Sync for NHK Easy News

The Sync for NHK Easy News Android application does not collect or share personal information.

• No information that could personally identify you is recorded
• No analytics services are bundled with the application

During operation, the application may make HTTP requests to services that are not owned by the application's developer (see INTERNET permission below). No personally identifiable information is added to these requests other than what is provided by the default Android HttpURLConnection implementation.

Sync for NHK Easy News uses the following Android permissions:

INTERNET

HTTP requests may be made to the following services during normal usage of the application. All HTTP requests include a User-Agent string that identifies Sync for NHK Easy News as the source of the request.

• NHK News Web Easy - Retrieve the contents and images of news articles
• Amazon S3 - Retrieve backup copies of images that NHK may no longer be hosting
• Reddit - Retrieve links for posts on /r/NHKEasyNews

ACCESS_WIFI_STATE

• Used to query the Wi-Fi state when the "Only on Wi-Fi" option is enabled

WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

• Used to write files to the SD card if the Storage option is set to "Removable SD"
